Band of the Great Lakes Concert Performs Next Week in Frankfort

JAK Courtesy of The U.S. Air Force Band of Flight The Frankfort Arts Foundation will put on a concert by the Air National Guard Band of the Great Lakes Concert Band to celebrate our national heritage on Thursday, July 8th at 7:30pm at the Kentucky State University’s Bradford Hall. The Concert Band is the largest ensemble of the Air National Guard Band of the Great Lakes. Under the baton of 2nd Lt. Daniel W. Boothe, the band will perform a diverse repertoire of military marches, fanfares, with a mix of symphonic, rock, and old standards. This program, “American Dream!” explores our heritage by celebrating the successes of notable Americans and their impact upon our country. The music will pay tribute to baseball, football, education, social progress and all those in uniform. Each concert features Tech. Sgt. David Diamond on Herman Bellstedt’s well known cornet solo, “Napoli” as well as Master Sgt. Matthew Wittman, tuba, on “Fireworks,” a novelty piece composed by our own Boothe. Whether you are 3 or 83, you will enjoy the sounds of these amazing musicians. Bradford Hall is located at 400 East Main Street in Frankfort, Kentucky.
