Family Readiness Groups (FRGs)

Family Readiness Groups (FRGs) are command sponsored organizations of Family members, volunteers and Soldiers belonging to a unit/organization. They work together to provide an avenue of mutual support and assistance and a network of communication among Family members, the chain of command and community resources.

During normal duty, an FRG forms a strong network of Families and military personnel. This network helps prepare Families for mobilization or deployment and it helps ensure that all arrangements are complete. During mobilization or deployment, the network helps support Families. The FRG and the military work together to help Families get what they need.

Who Can Belong to an FRG?
  • Spouses and children
  • Parents
  • Boyfriends and girlfriends
  • Friends and relatives
  • Retired service members
  • Members of the community who want to support the military
  • All Service members
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Kentucky Senior Family Readiness Support Assistant (SFRSA) at 502-607-3915.
