After five days of intense testing, 13 U.S. Army Soldiers and one Finnish Defense Forces soldier receive their Expert Infantryman Badge June 15, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The event was run by the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and tested Soldiers on their proficiency and skill as infantrymen over the course of five days. Testing including a physical fitness assessment, both day and night land navigation, three days of testing on more than 30 medical, weapons and patrol tasks, and finally, a 12-mile ruck march.
