Kentucky Officers honored with Meritorious Service Medal

Turner, KYNG Chief of Staff, for exceptional meritorious achievement while serving in the Kentucky National Guard."] FRANKFORT, Ky. (August 12, 2010)--Lt. Col. Dylan F. Seitz and Maj. Tamara M. Hurst were presented the Meritorious Service Medal by Col. Rondal L. Turner, Chief of Staff of the Kentucky National Guard at Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, Ky., for exceptional service in the Kentucky National Guard. Seitz received the medal for exceptional meritorious achievement while serving as the Staff Judge Advocate for the Kentucky Army National Guard.  Seitz's professionalism, tireless work ethic and dedication to the Soldiers, Families and command have been truly outstanding.  His award stated that he is the epitome of living the Army values and portrays an immaculate Soldier in uniform.  His outstanding performance contributed enormously to the success of the command and the Global War on Terrorism. "Dylan always takes care of Soldiers and always does the right thing,"  said Col. Rondal Turner, Chief of Staff of the Kentucky National Guard. Turner, Chief of Staff for the Kentucky National Guard at Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, Ky., Aug. 12."] Hurst received the medal for exceptional meritorious service while serving as the Battalion Commander for the 2/75th recruiting and Retention Battalion during the past two years.  Her award stated that she distinguished herself and the Kentucky National Guard with tireless dedication, enthusiasm and creative thinking in her strategic approach to the strength maintenance of the KYNG.  Turner said Hurst's leadership directly impacted the reach of 81 percent of mission thus far, an outstanding accomplishment prior to the end of the third quarter during a time of severe personnel and financial restrictions and war in two theatres. "We meet our recruiting goal every year because of the work of Tammy and her team," Turner said.
