LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kentucky National Guard is offering a series of Employment Assistance Workshops for the Soldiers of recently mobilized units. Located in Bowling Green, Corbin and Louisivlle over the next two months, these three day weekend events aim to improve the employability of those Kentucky's Citizen Soldiers.
Training is provided to help with resumes, applying for jobs and interview techniques. Instruction is also given on how to transfer skills learned in the military to the civilian sector.
On the last day of each workshop a job fair is held with companies who have pledged to give preference to Kentucky Guardsmen and Veterans for positions across the state.
All Kentucky Guard members are invited to attend these events.
"We want to better educate our Soldiers and Airmen for civilian employment," said Tim Stinnett, coordinator with Kentucky Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve. "Our goal is to improve employment overall for the stability of the Guard, for duty and at home."
The Kentucky ESGR has partnered with several state agencies to increase the span and effectiveness of the program. Along with the relationships built with the numerous companies looking to hire, the Employment Assistance Workshops will extend a great opportunity to the Citizen-Soldiers of the Kentucky National Guard.

3-5 April - Louisville
10-12 April - Corbin
