INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Adjutants General Maj. Gen. Edward W. Tonini of Kentucky and Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger of Indiana served as honorary captains during the Indiana University and University of Kentucky basketball game today in Bloomington.
Soldiers of the Kentucky and Indiana National Guards also attended the game at Assembly Hall on Saturday December, 12.
The game was broadcast to Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan where Soldiers of the Kentucky and Indiana National Guards are serving together as Task Force Cyclone, 38th Infantry Division.
The unit is commanded by Brig. Gen. Joseph Lonnie Culver of Bardstown, Ky. and the senior enlisted Soldier is Command Sgt. Maj. Lucas of Danville, Ind.
The unit's main mission is to assist the Afghan government with security, construction, economic and agricultural support in the assigned area of operations, as well as, facilitate the reception, training, housing and sustainment of U.S. troops entering the country.
