(May 6, 2010) -- More than 60 members of the Kentucky National Guard's Agribusiness Development Team II (Task Force Ironhorse) will be honored in a farewell ceremony at noon, May 7 ET at the Keene Barn, Keeneland Race Track, 4201 Versailles Road, Lexington, Ky. The unit will travel to Camp Atterbury, In. for several weeks of training before deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned with the mission of assisting Afghan farmers in becoming agriculturally self-sufficient and develop their agricultural marketplace, the task force is composed of a mix of Army National Guard Soldiers and Air National Guard Airmen with a variety of skills and backgrounds in agriculture matters. This will be the second such mission for the Kentucky National Guard. Kentucky's first Agribusiness Development Team is currently in Afghanistan and is expected to return in the coming weeks. More than 12,000 Soldiers and Airmen from the Kentucky National Guard have deployed in support of the Global War on Terror. Media planning to attend should call Lt. Col.
