FRANKFORT, Ky. – Many Soldiers from both Army and Air Force participated in the 61st Inauguration parade for incoming governor-elect, Andy Beshear Dec. 10.

From the six Color Guard Soldiers and Airmen that carried ol’ Glory to the steps of the Capitol to the 13 Soldiers that fired off 19 howitzer cannon blasts from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 138th Field Artillery Brigade.
There were also several Soldiers from the Field Artillery Brigade that took part in an escort detail the gala inside the Capitol building that wrapped up the evening of celebration for the governor and his family as well.
Soldiers from the 202nd Army Band joined the parade route playing the familiar tunes of My Old Kentucky Home and the Army Song among others.
Also joining the parade was the newly appointed Adjutant
General, Brig. Gen. Haldane
(Hal) B. Lamberton and his wife, Karen, who rode in an old World War II
original military model Army jeep through streets of downtown to the Capitol
building.
Lastly,
two C-130 Hercules Aircraft from the 123rd Air Wing provided the fly over after
the Gov. Beshear was sworn in.
