Kentucky Guardsman promoted to captain

Fontanez was promoted to the rank of captain in a ceremony held on Boone National Guard Center, Frankfort, Ky., Dec. 13. His wife Jayme, daughter Sami, and mother Becky attended. Fontanez received his commission in 2006 after completing the accelerated Officer Candidate School program. He currently serves as the executive officer for Kentucky’s adjutant general.
