LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Elementary and middle school students are making sure our troops overseas have a special Valentine's Day.
Rep. John Yarmuth and Major Keith McCauley of the Kentucky Air National Guard helped lead the Valentines for Vets project at Notre Dame Academy on Lewiston Drive near Riverport. Yarmuth worked with Maj. McCauley and the students worked together to create Valentine cards.
"This is a phenomenal thing for young people to show support for troops. I wanted to thank them, and it means so much for the men and women serving," said Yarmuth (D-KY 3rd).
The valentines will be sent to the men and women of the Kentucky Air National Guard who are deployed overseas.
