Kentucky Soldiers compete for coveted title

Ford Regional Training Site Nov. 18-20 for the annual Soldier of the Year Competition. The best Soldiers and NCOs representing each of the Kentucky National Guard major commands competed for the coveted title. “I want you all to leave it all on the field,” Command Sgt. Major David Munden, the Kentucky National Guard’s Senior Enlisted Advisor told participants Friday before the competition started. “I don’t want you walking away from this competition thinking, ‘I could have done more.’  Now is your time to shine.” After a variety of tasks including land navigation test, validation of five other Army Warrior Tasks, the Army Physical Fitness Test, a written essay and individual board appearances, three Guardsmen were left standing.
