Bravo Company returns home to Bowling Green

Bravo Co. deployed as part of the 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in June 2011 and returned home due to the drawdown in Iraq."] BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Bravo Company, 149th Brigade Support Battalion was honored at a welcome home ceremony  when over half the unit returned from Iraq at the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Bowling Green, Ky Dec. 8. "We're so appreciative of the sacrifice you've made," said Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon. " Even more so the sacrifice your families have made over these last several months. Daniel Cowan at the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Bowling Green, Ky., when Bravo Co., 149th Brigade Support Battalion returned from Iraq Dec. 8."] Bravo Company supported units in Iraq providing wheeled vehicle and tracked vehicle maintenance, weapons system maintenance and communication equipment repair. Bravo Co., 149th BSB is part of the 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade which deployed more than 1,300 Soldiers to Iraq last June. Since 9/11, nearly 14,000 Kentucky National Guard Soldiers and Airmen have mobilized in support of the Global War on Terror. The Kentucky National Guard has more than 1,600 troops deployed worldwide.
Sgt. First Class James Wheeler was welcomed home at the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Bowling Green, Ky., by his wife JJ and their family when Bravo Co., 149th Brigade Support Battalion returned from Iraq Dec. 8.
